Empties: Hits & Misses

The Hits

Novex Brazilian Keratin: I got this in a beauty box and was super impressed.  It’s a very rich hair mask that left my hair super soft and conditioned.  I’ll buy a full size tub of this.  Available online.

OGX Conditioner Hydrate + Defrizz Fukui Oil: Love, love this shampoo and conditioner combo. I have at least one back up.  Leaves hair super, silky soft.  Available at drugstores.

Kerastase Bain Chroma Riche Shampoo:  Haven’t met a Kerastase product I haven’t liked. Loved this shampoo for color treated hair. Available online.

SkinMedica TNS Eye Repair: My #1 eye cream.  I think this was my third one.  I’ll buy it again and again even as I test new brand in between.  Available online.

Sephora Triple Action Cleansing Water: An EXCELLENT make-up remover.  Bioderma equivalent.  Just fantastic.

The Misses

Nubian Body Wash: I like the soap from this range but hated the texture of this; way too thick and didn’t lather.

Bumble and Bumble Thickening Hair Spray: Bumble and Bumble have numerous products I love but I didn’t care for this sticky hair spray.

Dermablend Cover Creme: I’ve been using Dermablend since the mid-90’s but hated this hard, cakey formula.  I wasted my money buying this pot I could barely use.

Wet ‘n Wild Coloricon Trio: Great pigmentation and an even better value for the price but this formula irritates my contacts.

Sephora Outrageous Curl Mascara: Very popular, didn’t work for me.

Institut Esthederm Photo Reverse: Very popular but I couldn’t get on board with the concept of its claim to “use the sun to help reverse the pigmentation process and gradually lighten skin.”

L’Oreal Paris Ideal Clean Towelettes: I don’t care for cleansing wipes on my face ever but sometimes I get stuck without a cleanser while I’m traveling so I end up buying wipes and I’m usually disappointed.  These don’t take off eye makeup at all.

Nad’s Eyebrow Shaper: Nad’s strips are my favorite wax strips for the face.  However this pen is thick and hard to manage.  Stick with the strips.
