My favorite products this month.
Lotion Yon-Ka – Dry Skin Toner: My aesthetician swears by Yon-Ka, a French skincare brand, and sells the line in her office. I use a few toners/waters in rotation depending on what my skin needs. I use this hydrating one in the morning which contains Lavender Oil, Geranium Flower Oil, Rosemary Leaf Oil, Cypress Oil, and Thyme Oil. Buy from Dermstore here with free shipping or Amazon.
Lait-Crème Concentrè by Embryolisse.: My all time favorite daily moisturizer. I’m on my 4th or 5th tube. My skin drinks it up. Also, works great under make-up ask as it’s so smooth and moisturizing. Embryolisse is a French skincare line that has several great products in their line. This one I buy over and over. Amazon has good prices as does French Cosmetics For Less.
Bioderma Hydrabio Serum: I reviewed this hydrating serum in an earlier post. I’ve used it just about every morning these last couple of months. I’ve fully embraced serums as I’ve gotten older and my skin loves this one. Available on Amazon or escentual.com for the full range but Amazon has the best price for most products.
La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo: I did a full review on this as well. A very effective acne treatment. It also won a Best of Beauty award by Allure. La Roche-Posay can be found at Ulta, Amazon and some other drugstores.
Illamasqua Cream Pigment in Hollow: One of my favorite contouring products. I love the cool toned base of this shade, Hollow. Works great on my pale skin. Illamasqua is a cruelty-free, UK based make-up line with roots in film and theater makeup. It’s sold in some Sephora stores, Bloomingdales, and online at ASOS.
Cream based shadows: My quickest and easiest makeup look when I’m in a hurry is too swipe a cream shadow on my eyes. With some concealer, mascara and lip gloss, I’m out the door in a fraction of the time I normally spend on my face. These are my favorite brands and a few of my favorite shades that I’ve been wearing all winter. Maybelline Color Tattoo in the shade Tough As Taupe. These are a fabulous budget buy and work great. They dry up faster than high end brands so just make sure you keep the lid on tight and use them up. Available wherever Maybelline is sold. Smashbox Limitless 15 Hour Wear Cream Shadow in the shade Stone. I got this for Christmas two years ago and it’s still going strong. This charcoal grey color serves as a base for most of my eye shadow looks. Available at Ulta and Sephora. MAC Paint Pot in the shade Constructivist. I love this bronzy, brown shade. MAC Paint Pots have real lasting power and highly pigmented, color selection. I’ve had this two years and it looks barely used since a little goes a long way. @MAC.
I found this little white, gold and blue cheese set in an antique store for $6.
