Hall of Fame: Eye Creams

The eye creams I’ve included here in my Hall of Fame focus on anti-aging meaning that they deliver some form or forms of active, anti-aging ingredients aside from mere hydration. I’ve been testing more affordable eye creams as of late and will include some of them in an upcoming post but none to date deliver the results of the following eye creams that come at a higher price.

I will say, however, that one could skip eye creams in a routine all together by using serums, creams, and treatments packed with active ingredients and bringing them up around the eyes. Since the market is now flooded with quality skincare and new technologies, as opposed to even just five years ago, I believe it’s a step one could eliminate and spend your budget on the best serums you can afford.

Since I’m obsessed with experimentation, I continue to look for quality formulations that help my eye area look smoother, more moisturized, and frankly, less tired.

TNS Eye Repair by SkinMedica – I first discovered this eye cream in 2012 and have repurchased it at least three times. The hefty price tag is due to the inclusion of growth factors which are the basis for SkinMedica’s TNS range. Growth factors target blood vessels, reduce inflammation, encourage cell growth and help to reduce fine lines.

It’s difficult to put into words why I like it so much except that the skin around my eyes just looks better when I use this. It can be used day or night but I use it exclusively at night. Available online.

C-Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream by Drunk Elephant – This is a recent discovery and it’s the eye cream I’m currently using. This is a good choice for an all around eye cream with anti-aging ingredients such as Vitamin C and peptides. It can be used in the morning or evening. I’ve been using it in the evening and a caffeine infused eye cream in the morning. Available at Sephora.

Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic + Retinol Eye Serum – This became a favorite because of its versatility. Being a gel formulation, it’s lightweight, moisturizing and the caffeine contained within helps with morning puffiness. The retinol goes to work and addresses fine lines and crepiness. I used it both morning and night. Available at Sephora.

Clarins Extra-Firming Eye Lift Perfecting Serum – I’ve never used an eye cream that de-puffs better than this one. I’ve made numerous attempts to find a more affordable alternative. I’ve tested many that help mild puffiness but not to the degree of Clarins. I use this exclusively in the morning for this reason. It’s been reformulated and renamed, Extra-Firming Eye. Available at Clarins counters.

belif Moisturizing Eye Bomb – This was a 2018 discovery as well. Another gel formula that works best in the mornings for intense hydration, smoothness, and performs very well under makeup. Available at Sephora.

SkinCeuticals A.G.E. Eye Complex – An anti-aging superhero is this peptide eye cream that addresses it all; fine lines, crows feet, puffiness, crepey skin, dryness, etc. I used this morning and night. Available online.
