Where were these back in the day when I was younger? I’ve suffered my share of bad eye looks from creasing between the time I left the house in the morning to walking into work.
Using a primer under shadow helps your eye makeup last all day and/or night ensuring that your makeup looks more polished and professional. I’ll never be without one.
Below are my fail-safe favorites.
Urban Decay Primer Potion – A long time favorite. Available at Ulta for $24.
Too Faced Shadow Insurance – Very similar to Primer Potion. A solid choice. Available at Ulta for $20.
MAC Paint Pot in Painterly – Paint Pots come in a variety of shades and colors. They can be used as a shadow base or on their own. They are a good value for the money because they last for months and months. Available at MAC for $22.
LORAC Behind the Scenes Eye Primer – Works great. Available at Ulta for $23.
MILANI Eyeshadow Primer – Best buy for your budget is this one. It’s effective and affordable. Available at Ulta for $6.99.
Honorable Mention: Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow – Another technique is to use a non-creasing cream shadow as a primer. I like this one from Bobbi Brown in the shade Suede. This formula does not crease and there are numerous neutral shades in the range. It can be used as a base under powder shadow or on its own for a quick eye look. I have some cream shadow sticks that I use the same way. Available at Nordstrom for $30.
