Makeup Favorites: November 2018
I’m putting myself on a “low-buy” for the next six months when it comes to makeup so I can use up what I have before I buy anything new. For the most part, I’ve been sticking to one routine a month in order to make a real effort to use up makeup that I own and not waste it. This routine is my current mainstay.
Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation SPF 15 – I love this light coverage and hydrating foundation from Tarte. Available at Sephora.
CHANTECAILLE Just Skin Tinted Moisturizer – The effect of this “Just Skin” moisturizer is just that. It’s very light coverage but immediately evens out my skin tone without covering up the natural texture of my skin. It’s pricey but this tube lasts for months. Available at Nordstrom.
JOAH Truly Yours Dark Circle Concealer – If you like Maybelline Age Rewind concealer, you’ll like this other drugstore option. The texture is similar. I bought the shade Porcelain which is to0 light for me so I’m having to mix in a little of the Chanel concealer. Available at CVS.
Chanel Palette Essentielle Conceal & Highlight – I have the shade Beige Medium. I adore this little cream-based palette. I use the concealer also as a contour since it’s a good tone for my pale skin. The highlight is subtle and pretty. I like the cream blush as well. Available at Chanel counters.
e.l.f. Eyebrow Enhancer – One of the best bargains out there is this $2.00 eyebrow pencil. Available at drugstores.
Essence Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel Mascara – I top off with this brow gel or I use it on its own when I’m in a hurry. $2.99 and available at Ulta.
Ben Nye 12-Color Eye Shadow and Rouge Palette – Ben Nye caters to makeup artists and the quality is fantastic. The pans are quite big, however, and it takes the average person a long time to use up. The best source for Ben Nye is Camera Ready Cosmetics.
MAC Paint Pot in Painterly – A long time staple eye base is Painterly. Eyeshadow lasts all day and doesn’t crease. Available at MAC.
Inglot AMC Pure Pigment Eye Shadow – Over the Ben Nye neutral shadows, I’ve been using these pure pigments as a topper. I have the shades 85 and 86. Available at Inglot.
KIKO EVERLASTING KAJAL – The blackest black eyeliner I’ve found. And, it does not budge. Available at KIKO.
Stila Smudge Kajal Eyeliner – Another kajal liner that does not budge is Stila. I’ve used this dark navy shade, Sapphire for years.
Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara – This is my third tube. It’s such a good mascara and a bargain at $4.99. Available at Ulta.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss – Not only do these lip glosses smell like cake, I like the non-sticky formulation. This shade, Warm Bronze, goes with everything. Available at Ulta.
Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Moss – Another goes-with-everything nude is this creamy lipstick in the shade 08. Available at Walgreens.
Kevin Aucoin The Flesh Tone Lip Pencil – As described, a flesh tone lip pencil. Available online.
