My 10 Best Beauty Discoveries of 2018

Garden of Wisdom Skincare – In the same vein as The Ordinary and Indeed Labs, Garden of Wisdom offers active ingredient skincare at a very affordable price.

These brands (including The INKEY List) are the disrupters in the overpriced, overpackaged, highly marketed beauty industry that we’ve known for decades. I’m excited about the products and thrilled to support the brands.

Inkey List Vitamin C

The INKEY List – This no-faff budget skincare line was launched last year and I tried two products from the range; the Vitamin C serum, and the Retinol. They have other products that have piqued my interest such as Squalane Oil and Tumeric Moisturizer. Most of the products in the range are priced under $10.

Quantum Hydrox Gel Facewash – A Canadian pharmacy discovery this year was this facewash by Quantum Hydrox. It can be purchased online but I hope it becomes more readily available. Read more about it on my post.

DRUNK ELEPHANT C-Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream – I’m not a fan of the price of this eye cream but I cannot dispute the results. Packed with peptides and plant oils, this leaves my eye area feeling deeply hydrated. I’ll continue my pursuit of affordable eye creams but I will definitely come back to this one.

Lash Princess Mascara by Essence – Long, black, fluttery lashes for $4.99. With so many great drugsgtore mascaras on the market, there is no need to spend more than $10.

Makeup favorites Chanel

e.l.f. Instant Lift Brow PencilThis $2.00 wonder.

NYX Wonder Stick – This cool-toned cream contour and highlight stick is my favorite contour product. I also have a backup because I don’t want to run out.

Wet n Wild Photofocus Foundation – I still can’t believe how much I like this foundation. It smells like paint thinner so beware of that but the velvety finish is superb.

Rimmel Magnif’eyes Eyeshadow Palette – Rimmel released these palettes last year. The color stories are on trend. The pigment is awesome, and the price is a bargain at $9.00 but can be purchased for less with a drugstore coupon. They have seven options to choose from.

DR. JART+ Ceramidin Cream – For all skin types, this extremely light, creamy, hydrating moisutrizer can be used day or night. I love the way it works under makeup. It also works a soothing balm if your skin is angry and problematic.

LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask – Here’s a bonus one as I only discovered it in December. For super hydrated and supple lips, keep this on your bedside table and apply before going to sleep. Amazing.
