Hall of Fame: Vitamin C Serums

Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant and when used in skincare offers a multitude of benefits.  It brightens and boosts the production of collagen.  It also fights free radicals caused by UV exposure and pollution.  Incorporating Vitamin C into your daily skincare routine works to prevent hyperpigmentation leaving skin brighter, and firmer with a more even skin tone.   I use a Vitamin C serum nearly every day.  These are

Best Red Lipsticks

One of the quickest and easiest ways to wake up the face and pull a look together, regardless of what you’re wearing, is to put on a red lip. That and the fact that red lipstick never goes out of style.  These are my Top 6 favorite red lipsticks in no particular order.  All of them have a few things in common.  All have a satin finish, none are matte.

Budget Beauty Bible: Makeup – Best Beauty Buys Under $20

My favorite budget makeup picks.  All have a list price of below $20 but can be purchased for much less when bought on offer or with a drugstore coupon.  I rarely pay full price for drugstore makeup because there are always sales to be found.  Loyalty programs can result in big discounts by using points or coupons.  I’m partial to CVS, Walgreens, and Ulta.  This is where I get the biggest

Hall of Fame: Overnight Sleeping Masks

When my skin is looking parched or fatigued, I love an overnight sleeping mask to turn things around.  I use them once or twice a week when my face needs a drink of moisture.  These are my favorites in my rotation.  Combined with a good night’s sleep, I wake up with plump, moisturized, and hydrated skin.   Super Facialist Probiotic Overnight Skin Recovery Cream – I used this last winter

Hall of Fame: Micellar Cleansing Water

Micellar water is a decades-old French creation supposedly due to the days of poor plumbing and awful tap water.  No one wanted to wash their face in it.  Most skincare brands have jumped onto the trend by now with their own version.   Don’t confuse micellar water with toner.  Micellar water is a cleansing water that removes makeup and hydrates the skin.  Some have instructions not to rinse off.  I

Talking Palettes

I am long overdue for an edit and declutter of my eyeshadow palettes.  I’m a huge fan of palettes because you almost always get more for your money considering a single eyeshadow can average $6.00 at the drugstore, MAC eyeshadows are $17.00 each, and more for single luxury eyeshadows.  Armani single eyeshadows are a whopping $32.00 a piece.   Having said that, I’ve vowed not to buy any new palettes

Hall of Fame: Moisturizers

None of these moisturizers contain SPF as I prefer to use a separate high-factor SPF.  Therefore, many of these options can be used at night but for the sake of this list, these are my favorite daytime moisturizers that work great under make-up or on their own for my normal-dry skin. My Hall of Fame.. Charlotte’s Magic Cream – I love this luxurious and hydrating cream.  Created by make-up artist,

Hall of Fame: Exfoliators

I’m an exfoliation warrior and have experimented with a wide range of exfoliators.  I combine both physical and acid exfoliators into my routine on a regular basis.  I don’t prefer one over the other but like them both for different reasons.  Both types slough off dead skin allowing the active ingredients in the products that you use after (serum, retinols, vitamin c, etc.) penetrate deeper into the skin.  The

Hall of Fame: Primers

I don’t use primers often but there are some that I think really make a difference in the final result of my make-up.  I have a dry skin so I go for primers that illuminate and brighten as opposed to ones targeting oil control or pore size.  LE BLANC DE CHANEL ILLUMINATING BASE does exactly what it says it does.  I love this under foundation.  I discovered Too Faced Hangover

Hall of Fame: Sunscreens

My favorite sunscreens in no particular order.  Many of these have been in my rotation for years because they meet all of my criteria for an SPF for the face.  1.  High percentage of SPF (30 minimum).  2.  Works great under make-up.  3.  Doesn’t seep into my eyes.  4.  Broad Spectrum, protects against UVA and UVB rays. Kiehl’s Super Fluid UV Defense SPF 50+ – A longtime favorite.  Light in
