Empties: Hits & Misses

There aren’t any “misses” in this round of Empties or Products I’ve used up.  That means money well spent! Sally Hansen Wax Strip Kit Brow/Face/Bikni: Fabulous little home waxing kit.  This works.  You may still need to tweeze a couple of stubborn hairs but this $6 kit is perfect between salon visits.  Pick it up at any drugstore or Ulta. Clarins Advanced Extra Firming Eye Contour Serum: I’ve been using

September Favorites

I’m still in Las Vegas and it’s still hot! Sebastian Trilliant Thermal Protection and Sparkle Complex Spray: I use a heat protectant every time I use a hot tool on my hair and rotate a few products.  The last couple of months, I’ve been using this one.  I doesn’t provide a ton of shine on me but it does give me some body and I like it as a heat

Product Review: EFFACLAR DUO Acne Treatment

This acne treatment by La Roche-Posay kept popping up in magazines I was reading and getting rave reviews.  I picked up a tube to have on hand for the occasional breakout.  Having used it for several months now, I see what the fuss is all about.  It definitely cuts the healing time drastically.  Contains 5.5% Benzoyl Peroxide and Salicylic Acid, both essential in reducing the severity of acne and

Empties: Hits & Misses

Fortunately another month of Hits in the products I’ve used up.  I really liked all of these products. Batiste Dry Shampoo in Dark Brown: My all time favorite dry shampoo.  This was my 6th or 7th can and I’ve bought a new one already.  I always have this on hand.  Available at drugstores and Ulta. Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Moist Deeeeep Conditioner: My 10th bottle of 3 Minute Miracle at

August Favorites

I’m in Las Vegas and it’s hot!  Some of my summer favorites. RoCĀ® Gommage Doux Lissant Soft Smoothing Scrub: I bought this exfoliating scrub in Canada and love it.  This is the French version which has a few more ingredients than the US version but the they’re very similar.  Not only does it work beautifully as an exfoliant, it smells incredible, like a combination of flowers and Love’s Baby

Product Review: Bioderma

Super performers from the French skincare line, Bioderma. Hydrabio Serum: I love this intensely hydrating serum and I use it before I apply moisturizer.  It’s from their dry and dehydrated skin range which my parched skin loves. Bioderma Crealine H2O Micellar Solution: Hands down the best makeup remover on the market.  Beauty bloggers and magazine editors have been banging on about this cleanser for years.  Not only does it

Empties: Hits & Misses

Hits Blousey Shampoo by Lush:  I loved this shampoo from one of my favorite brands, Lush.  All Lush products are organic, handmade and vegan.  The only negative thing I can say about Lush products is that they’re expensive, but then handmade, vegan products are going to cost a little more.  I’m willing to pay for cruelty-free and they are truly wonderful to use!  My brother’s dog, Willie got ahold

July Favorites

This month turned me onto some new favorites as well as some old stand buys. Shiseido Facial Cotton: Hands down THE BEST cotton pads on the market.  Do your face a favor and get your hands on a packet of these.  They’re often sold out on the website and in stores.  Once you try them, you’ll see why they can’t keep them in stock.  Usually available where Shiseido is

Pharmacy: Canadian Beauty

Take a trip across the border and discover a whole new world of beauty.  I took such a trip recently and picked up loads of new products to try.  Fortunately, some of these are readily found in stores or online but others are much harder to get a hold of in the US.  I’ll post more in-depth reviews soon.  Here’s a sneak peak. –Avene Thermal Spring Water –Bioderma Crealine H2O
