March Favorites

I’m still in Winter mode although it’s technically Spring.  Here are some of my favorites this month. Inglot palette: I went to Inglot at the beginning of March and put together this little palette that I’ve worn most of the month.  I particular like this copper, bronze shade with a little dab of the brick red in the center of the eyelid.  The other two are a charcoal color

February Favorites

My favorite products this month. Lotion Yon-Ka – Dry Skin Toner: My aesthetician swears by Yon-Ka, a French skincare brand, and sells the line in her office.  I use a few toners/waters in rotation depending on what my skin needs.  I use this hydrating one in the morning which contains Lavender Oil, Geranium Flower Oil, Rosemary Leaf Oil, Cypress Oil, and Thyme Oil.  Buy from Dermstore here with free

January Favorites

Happy New Year!  Here are a few of my favorites for January. Dew Me Moisturizing Makeup Setting Spray by Urban Decay: Having dry skin, I prefer to use a spray rather than powder to set my makeup.  This one is great.  Your makeup will stay in place throughout the workday or evening.  And, your skin will glow!  This is not a matte finish hence the name, Dew Me!  Available at Sephora

Products from Yesteryear

I recently visited The Vermont Country Store which has been around since 1946 and specializing in products from yesteryear.  This place is really neat and makes for a super fun road trip. I picked up several things that I remember from my childhood and others that looked interesting to try. Pinaud Clubman Talc: This is sold as a man’s talc but I loved the men’s cologne scent.  They’ve been making

Product Review: Cleansing Balms

Oil based cleansing balms are an absolute must in my daily cleansing regimen.  If you want to get every trace of eye makeup off in one cleanse and give your skin a boost of nourishment, switch to cleansing balms.  Don’t be put off by the word “oil.”  Our skin needs it.  These balms wash off completely, along with any stubborn mascara, and leaves your skin feeling hydrated and nourished, not

Product Review: DIOR Crème de Rose Smoothing Plumping Lip Balm

I’ve been wanting to try this lip balm for years.  I use Dior’s Creme Abricot nail cream so I’m surprised it’s taken me this long.  It is a slightly plumping, wonderful lip balm.  I keep it by my bed and use it every morning and night.  It has a faint rose smell that’s very nice.  It’s a splurge at $27 but a luxurious gift for your lips. Available at Sephora

Product Review: Oribe haircare

Beautiful hair sometimes comes with a heart attack price tag.  The Oribe (pronounced OR-bay) haircare range fits this description.  These two products are amazing.  I have a tendency to save them for my more “special” hair days and I’m never disappointed. Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray: Gives styled hair a big boost of body and texture.  Fab product, painful at $42 for a full size bottle. Supershine Moisturizing Cream: I

Product Review: EFFACLAR DUO Acne Treatment

This acne treatment by La Roche-Posay kept popping up in magazines I was reading and getting rave reviews.  I picked up a tube to have on hand for the occasional breakout.  Having used it for several months now, I see what the fuss is all about.  It definitely cuts the healing time drastically.  Contains 5.5% Benzoyl Peroxide and Salicylic Acid, both essential in reducing the severity of acne and

Product Review: Something for our hands and feet

A glorious foot balm and hand cream. Glysomed Foot Balm: This is a wonderfully rich foot balm that contains shea butter, olive oil and peppermint oil.  Glysomed is a Canadian based company that is easily found on Amazon and Walgreens. Herbacin Kamille Hand Cream: This rich, glycerin based hand cream comes in a tube or tin.  It’s mildly scented and moisturizes beautifully.  Herbacin is a German based company that’s been
