My favorites this month has to be the cool stuff I bought at IMATS NYC. I’ve been using everything here this month except for the lashes. Hakuhodo Makeup Brushes and Case: The primary reason I went to IMATS was to buy these brushes. They are the finest brushes I’ve ever owned and I love using them! Each one is handmade in Japan. They’re unbelievably soft. Expensive and worth it.
I’m obsessed with all things Rose. Here are some of my rose inspired favorites! Pink Rose Salt: I love culinary salts and always have a little collection on hand in the kitchen. These pink rose salts have a nice flavor in addition to being absolutely beautiful. Available online from Mountain Rose Herbs. Rosehip Seed Oil: Rosehip has been used as a facial/cosmetic oil for generations. Mountain Rose Herbs offers this
I received these two Skin&Co products in a sample box recently. Mostly, I want to talk about the TRUFFLE THERAPY SERUM which is absolutely wonderful! It smells wonderful and I noticed a positive effect on my skin almost immediately. It’s expensive, $75 for 1oz. but I’d buy a full size tube if I came across it again. Amazon has it at a discount. I’m still in Winter mode although it’s technically Spring. Here are some of my favorites this month. Inglot palette: I went to Inglot at the beginning of March and put together this little palette that I’ve worn most of the month. I particular like this copper, bronze shade with a little dab of the brick red in the center of the eyelid. The other two are a charcoal color
My favorite products this month. Lotion Yon-Ka – Dry Skin Toner: My aesthetician swears by Yon-Ka, a French skincare brand, and sells the line in her office. I use a few toners/waters in rotation depending on what my skin needs. I use this hydrating one in the morning which contains Lavender Oil, Geranium Flower Oil, Rosemary Leaf Oil, Cypress Oil, and Thyme Oil. Buy from Dermstore here with free
Badger makes all natural and organic products for the home and body. I love their little balm tins. This sleepy time balm is made with Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Castor Oil, Beeswax, Bergamot, Lavender, Rosemary, Ginger and Balsam Fir. I like to rub a little on my lips and pulse points before my head hits the pillow. Check out their other balm formulations and the entire range here. Badger Balm
Happy New Year! Here are a few of my favorites for January. Dew Me Moisturizing Makeup Setting Spray by Urban Decay: Having dry skin, I prefer to use a spray rather than powder to set my makeup. This one is great. Your makeup will stay in place throughout the workday or evening. And, your skin will glow! This is not a matte finish hence the name, Dew Me! Available at Sephora
I try to mask my face regularly every Sunday night while watching Downton Abbey or any of my favorite Sunday shows. I also use a hydrating mask before any special event. I’m a huge fan. My philosophy on masks is it’s an important component to include in an overall skincare regimen. While you may not notice huge results after one use, their benefit comes from ongoing use over time.
I recently visited The Vermont Country Store which has been around since 1946 and specializing in products from yesteryear. This place is really neat and makes for a super fun road trip. I picked up several things that I remember from my childhood and others that looked interesting to try. Pinaud Clubman Talc: This is sold as a man’s talc but I loved the men’s cologne scent. They’ve been making
