A.M. Skincare Routine August 2017

My current A.M. skincare routine – Summer 2017

Step 1 – Cleanse

Tata Harper Regenerating Cleanser – I’ve written a full review here.  This is perfect for a morning cleanse with mild exfoliation.

Step 2 – Hydrate

La Roche-Posay Thermal Water – It’s my habit to spritz my face with a facial water or essence before adding serum.  Theory being that water molecules help serum absorb deeper into the skin.  I don’t know if this is factual, but I like the added layer of hydration and my skin responds well.

Step 3 – Serum

Matrixyl 3000 by Timeless Skincare – Peptide serum that helps to produce collagen and elastin.  There are a few Matrixyl brands that I rotate.  This is the first product I’ve tried from Timeless Skincare and would buy it again.

*I alternate between Serum and Vitamin C days.  Sometimes when I use both vitamin C and a serum, the silicone in the vitamin C can ball up with certain brands.

Step 4 – Vitamin C

22% Vitamin C by Indeed Labs – This is a great choice for a high concentration Vitamin C at an affordable price.  I use Vitamin C in the morning and retinols in the evening. Vitamin C brightens the skin and prevents pigmentation.  You have to use sunscreen though everyday, otherwise you defeat the purpose.  Readily available in Canada, the UK and online

Step 5 – Eye Cream

Natura Bisse The Cure Sheer Eye – Painfully expensive eye cream yet worth every penny.  At least the bottle will last you at least six months.  This is a very moisturizing, tinted eye cream loaded with anti-aging skincare ingredients that de-puff and brighten tired eyes.  I buy from SpaceNK.

Step 6 – Moisturizer

Charlotte Tillbury’s Magic Cream – Definitely one of my favorite daytime moisturizers designed by make-up artist, Charlotte Tillbury to be used under make-up or on its own.  It’s hydrating, moisturizing and luscious.  Available at Nordstrom

Step 7 – Protect

Dr. Jart+ Black Label Nourishing BB Cream – There isn’t one product I’ve ever used that I didn’t love from Dr. Jart.  It’s a top notch Korean skincare line.  I use this tinted BB Cream, SPF 30, most days with or without foundation on top.  On days when I’m out in the blazing sun, I use SPF 50.  I bought this Black Label variation at a Korean skincare store but you can find it online. Or, choose any other BB Cream/SPF available at Sephora by Dr. Jart.  You won’t be disappointed.
