A road trip to Death Valley during the hottest month of the year, and I lived to tell about it. The beauty of Death Valley National Park in pictures.
This past summer, I took a trip to Death Valley National Park with my family. The suffocating 116-degree temperature may not for sissies but one cannot deny the beauty and quiet serenity of the place.
We departed Las Vegas and took Highway 160 through Pahrump to Death Valley Junction near the park’s border. There are plenty of services on the route for gas and food stops.
The Oasis at Death Valley with its gorgeous grounds was our hotel of choice. It’s truly an oasis in the desert. We spent the day photographing the magnificent landscape. Around 11 pm, we drove out into the park, pulled off the road, set up some chairs, and spent the next several hours stargazing. I’ve never seen the Milky Way so vivid and bright. It makes a person feel small and insignificant. It is a truly magnificent experience. If you have any room on your bucket list, Death Valley National Park deserves to be there.
