Product Review: Eve Lom Cleanser
Vogue has called Eve Lom Cleanser “the best cleanser in the world.” Its cult status shows no signs of abating any time soon.
What it claims to do:
“The pioneer of all cleansers, this special blend has won awards for the past 32 years. Every EVE LOM Cleanser includes a complimentary muslin cloth, which has been specially created to work with the cleanser to gently exfoliate and support natural blood circulation, leaving the skin feeling exceptionally smooth and radiant. It cleanses, decongests, tones, exfoliates, and removes even the most stubborn waterproof makeup.”
Do I agree?
Yes. Made of Clove Oil, Eucalyptus Oil, Hops Oil, Egyptian Chamomile Oil, and Cocoa Butter, it has a rich balmy texture that removes every stitch of makeup and leaves my skin feeling supple and soft.
Eve Lom is a Chzeck-born facialist who started her skincare line in 1985 by launching this cleanser. It has since achieved a decades-long cult following. Eve Lom pioneered muslin cloth cleansing and is so committed to the practice that each cleanser is sold with one. Packages of three are available for purchase as well.
How I use it:
I use it only at night to remove makeup and cleanse my skin. One can certainly use it in the morning as well. It’s just my personal preference to use balm cleansers at night and a lightweight cleanser or exfoliator in my morning routine.
I apply the balm all over my face with my hands working in and around my eyes to remove eye makeup. It has an herbal, medicinal scent. Then, I add a little water and it begins to lather. Wipe it all off with the thin muslin cloth.
How much does it cost?
$80 for 100ml. Somewhat costly on the outset, but it is concentrated. You don’t need much. Saving it for nighttime use also extends the pot. Available at Sephora.
