Spring Makeup Favorites – March 2020

I imagine most of us aren’t wearing much makeup these days, however, I still need to make the occasional grocery run. These are some of the things I love in my current spring makeup routine.
I’ve taken this opportunity at home to declutter some old makeup. In the process, I have rediscovered some things I had forgotten about. I also bought a few new items last month and I pulled out some old favorites that I would like to use up.
Spring Makeup Favorites
Stellar Brilliant Primer – My skin tone is fair with a cool-neutral undertone. This dewy pink primer gives my skin a subtle glow without any trace of shimmer.
The Original Tension Pact Foundation by Missha – Missha makes some of my favorite K-Beauty skincare and makeup. Their BB Cream is one of my favorites for fair skin. This sheer and luminous cushion foundation is lightweight, moisturizing, applies flawlessly with a sponge, and looks like skin. It gives my skin a gorgeous glow.
Benefit Boi-ing Concealer – I use this cakeless concealer with a light hand in the inner corner of my eye. It instantly brightens and helps me look a little more awake.

Smashbox Contour Palette – An oldie but goodie and bestselling contour palette is this terrific trio. All matte finish, the cool-toned contour shade is perfect for fair, cool-neutral skin tones. I don’t use the bronzer (middle shade) too often. The matte highlight and contour are longtime favorites.
Ben Nye Pressed Color Palette – I’ve had this palette for years. I used to travel with it more than I do now but I keep it nearby for 5-minute makeup looks. I also use the brown, gray and black shades as a root cover-up powder in between salon appointments.

MAC Painterly Paint Pot – My can’t-live-without eyeshadow base. Painterly is a pink-toned cream base. If you have a yellow undertone, go for the MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre.
Shu Uemura Eye Shadow Palette – This palette is long discontinued however Shu Uemura eyeshadows are rich in pigment and buttery soft. You can now choose individual shades and make your own palette.
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Pencil – One of my favorite shades, Crash, a brownish eggplant is now discontinued. Rockstar is similar. These pencils never drag on the eye and the shade range is awesome.

Elf Eyebrow Pencil – One of the best beauty buys out there is this $2 eyebrow pencil. Mine has lasted for over a year. It’s great to save money where you can and one can’t beat this quality pencil at this price.
Benefit Gimme Brow Gel – An excellent brow gel is this one from Benefit. I found a sample in my makeup bag to use up. They offer an inclusive shade range and the tiny brush is the best.
Essence False Lashes Mascara – Essence makes my favorite mascara, Lash Princess, so I decided to test out their entire mascara lineup. This is the fourth one I’ve tried. I recommend it if you’re looking for a jet black lengthening mascara. I will definitely repurchase. You can’t beat the $5 price tag.
Milani Make It Last Setting Spray – This is an excellent makeup setting spray for the price. I prefer the experience of using fine mists that feel like a damp cloud. This one comes at you hard so stand back but the setting power is good.

MAC Lip Pencil in Nightmoth – For plum lip shades, I recommend this black-plum shade by MAC. Use it as a liner or fill in the lips and put a gloss over the top.
Besame 1930 Lipstick – I don’t wear this often because it’s quite bold but I’ve been rocking this vintage 1930’s dark plum shade lately. I adore the entire Besame lipstick range and would love to have one of each color.
Milani Ludicrous Lip Gloss in She’s All That – Most days, I reach for a gloss. I recently picked up this nude mocha shade. It compliments all makeup looks in a single step.
Let me know in the comments below if you’ve discovered any new makeup recently.
