One of my top destinations on my trip to London last year was to visit The Great Frog.
The Great Frog has been making rock and roll jewelry inspired by heavy metal artists since 1972. Clients include Led Zepplin, Metallica, Def Leppard, Debbie Harry, Marilyn Manson, and many, many more.
I had done a lot of research and pre-shopping online before I arrived and knew precisely what I wanted to buy once I was there. I appreciate the history of the establishment, and the craftsmanship put into each and every piece of jewelry. I also loved the vibe of the shop. The staff was very nice, helpful, and let me take a bunch of photos.
I bought one ring in London and a second one at their New Orleans store in the French Quarter. I have been building a silver set of rings as well as a gold set for awhile now. I’ve settled on incorporating skull jewelry into my silver set. There are a few sellers I follow on Etsy, and I’ve had great success at flea markets but I hope to add another Great Frog piece to my collection on my next trip to one of their shops.
If you find yourself nearby, I recommend stopping in even if skull jewelry isn’t your thing. There’s still a lot to see and the photographs decorating the place are pretty cool.
