Vintage Yellow Ruffled Blouse
This pretty and feminine ruffled blouse is a vintage find from last year’s A Current Affair vintage exhibition in Brooklyn, New York.
Last week, I took my first trip to the Pacific Northwest to visit family since the pandemic began. I hadn’t realized how bored I was isolated in my apartment these past four months and just how much I missed my friends and family. I’m grateful to have this time with them before I head back to the East Coast.
My sister took a few pictures of me inside her greenhouse. What a peaceful place to relax with a good book and snack on fresh strawberries!
On this day, I wore a vintage ruffled blouse that I bought at A Current Affair last fall from Lust and Fond Vintage. I love the big billowy sleeves and rows upon rows of ruffles. It’s yellow as well, definitely outside of my usual dark palette. Rather than pairing it with blue or black jeans, I decided upon gray Zara jeans and dressed the whole look down with Converse platforms, and my Dad’s aviators.
The necklace is vintage 1960’s, Kenneth Lane. I bought it at Brimfield Flea a few years ago.
My hair is in rough shape post quarantine. I experienced a lot of breakage. I’m trying to revitalize it now with deep conditioners and masks. I’ve started using Elizavecca CER-100 Collagen Coating Hair Protein Treatment. It’s affordable and smells really good but it’s too early to tell just how effective it is for repairing damaged hair. Still, I won’t despair. The sun is shining. It’s not too hot and the berries are out in abundance.
